Eleanor Roosevelt once said:
“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.”
To me, that is so very true and this is why I decided about a month ago to do a routine to honor, support and give strength to those who are close to me who battle their demons daily.
I started to create this dance as I watched 1st hand a dear friend of mine begin the journey of having a surgery to remove what was growing inside of her… cancer. The fear, the sleepless nights, the pain, the struggles that this woman was going through really made stop and think.
We all go through so much in life, Cancer, Depression, Exhaustion, Worries, etc. So what once was a dance in honor of 1 person became a dance to honor all of those who struggle on a daily basis to keep their head above water. I’ve always believed that we have that one person that is our strength, our lighthouse, who will guide us when we become scared and lost. So tonight, if only for 5 minutes, think about that one person who is your strength….. Grab that Angel By The Wings and hold on, for in the end, You CAN do Anything.
Immy,Winnie, Jo, Ray, Ame, Zach, Baby, Dakota, Cara, Seb, Lily, Deb, Deny, Tray and everyone else who needs an Angel.. this song, this routine is for you.
